My Final Shoe (Artefact)

<<<This is a picture of my final shoe in artifact.
I painted the whole shoe black then painted the white parts on top. I stuck a few beads on the front of the shoe for decoration and to link it in with hemstocks. I also added a label on the heel of the shoe saying hemstocks and i drawed a black line round the bottom of the shoe to make it look more like a converse.

Overall i think my shoe i made went quite well. I think my shoe could do with another layer of paint to make it look neater because at the moment the paint work looks a bit ragged.

Pictures of my shoe

These are some pictures of my shoe being made..........

<<<<At this stage i had removed the mod roc from the shoe mould. I had also made a heel and attached the heel to my shoe. The next stage after this is for me to paint the shoe.

These pictures are showing the stage after the picture above. I had painted the whole shoe black but i needed to do another layer because there is still white bits of mod roc showing through.

The plan on how to make my shoe

What I will be doing each lesson.
Lesson 1- The first lesson I will design my shoe and when I have drawn up my final design I will label all the parts of the shoe saying what materials I want each part to be.
Lesson 2- I will get the yellow should mould and cover it with cling film. I will then cover it with one layer of mod roc and leave it to dry.
Lesson 3- I will then add another layer of mod roc on top to make it stronger. Then I will leave it to dry, while it is drying I will experiment with other materials to see what would work best with my shoe.
Lesson 4- this lesson I will remove the mod roc from the shoe mould.
Lesson 5- In this lesson I will make a heel for my shoe out of mod roc. I will then attach the heel to the bottom of the mod roc shoe.
Lesson 6- In this lesson I will paint the whole shoe black including the heel and leave it to dry then add another layer of paint and leave to dry.
Lesson 7- I will then paint any other parts on the shoe I need to paint on and make sure the whole shoe is painted they way i wanted it to be.
Lesson 8- In this lesson I will add any bits onto the shoe like jewels, gems or ribbon ect.

LO2 Safety at Browick

The SAFETY issues for Browick are:
  • Be careful when walking to Browick- be aware of other people coming the other way.
  • Privacy of the children at Browick- don't take pictures of the children because we don't have permission from the parents, Only take pictures of the performances and people doing the diploma.
  • Rehearsing- use common sense when you are rehearsing.
  • Going round school- only go to the classrooms and places you are ment to go when at Browick road school, only stay in your classroom you are ment to be in.

LO1 What makes a good Poster/Slogan

The things i think that makes a good poster is that the poster must be:
  • Eye catching- use bright colours and big, bold text so when people walk past it catch there attention and makes them want to stop and read it.
  • Clearly set out- have clear pictures and writing so that people can actually see the poster clearly and be spaced out so it easier to see.
  • Not to much writing- if the poster has to much writing on it then people wont want to stop and read all of it whereas if it only has a bit of writing then it wont take long to read.
I also think that a slogan should be quite short and catchy so that when people see it the slogan will stick in their head and it will be easy to remember.

LO1 Comparing 4 Different Campaigns

BBC Children in Need: Friday 19 November 2010

<<<This is a poster for Children in Need. The things i think are good about it is that there is a lot of colour used and it is very eye catching. It has the Children in Need logo at the top and it is very clear to see. I think that this poster will appeal mostly to children because it has all the children's TV characters on there all together. I also like that they have used the same idea of the Beatles album but instead they have linked it in with Children in Need and all the children's characters. I think the poster makes you feel happy because of the use of colour and all the characters are happy.

<<This is one of lots of NSPCC posters. I picked this one out to analyse because i think it gets the point across straight away. The picture of the baby all bruised and beaten up makes people feel upset and it gets the point across that there are children like this that get beaten up badly and that NSPCC need our help to stop this cruelty on children. I think this poster is very good because it makes you feel something inside and then you stop and think about it.

<<<This is an advert for the RSPCA. I think it is good because it gets the point across that animals still get beaten up or left by themselves as well as children. The advert shows you an abandoned cat left by its owner, it makes you think that there are lots more animals like this and that the RSPCA could help abandoned animals if we donate money or things to the charity shops.

ChildLine

<<<This is the Child line poster. I think the writing they have put on the poster is really good because it says `its your music, its your clothes, its your friends......` which is more direct with the audience and it is saying that it is your body and life so you should be in charge of that and not be forced by other people. Also it makes you feel more good about yourself and that you can call child line if you feel you need to.

LO2 Our Logos and Poster

<<<<This is one of my groups logos, he is called red cross man. we have used mainly reds and blues because the link into the red cross charity. He has a big red cross on his chest which symbolise the red cross in the charity. We thought of having a red cross man as a super hero because people from red cross go out and help in lots of different situations, so they are like super hero's to others.

<<< This is our poster we have designed to raise awareness of the red cross charity. We have put our slogan `Donate Don't Dump` in the middle in big bold letters to make it stand out and we thought that the saying `donate don't dump` would be quite catchy so people will remember it. We have one of our logos in the top left of the poster which is quite clear so people can read it. The red box with writing in it tells you what we want you to do and where/when you can donate things. At the bottom we have a row of pictures of children with sad faces because we thought it will make people feel sorry for them children and might make them realise that if they donate the children wont be sad and they will be happy. Also we have added another slogan at the bottom saying `Help Them Help Us`.

<<<<This is my groups other logo design. We have used this as our final logo.  We have added the red cross again to link it into the charity. We have called our group `Crazy Cross Converse Campaign` we have linked the name to the charity (Cross) and added campaign into our name because that is what we are doing. We then added the little logo next to the cross, we made the logo using four C`s to link in with our groups name.

LO1 First reactions to Brief and Tasks

My first reactions when we got given our brief and the tasks we had to do was it looks like a lot of work and some tasks look easier than others. Also when i looked at the tasks and briefs i thought some looked quite interesting and fun to do but some didn't look as interesting.
My opinion on donating is that i think it is a good idea because it helps out the less fortunate and charity shops are also a great idea because you can give them your things that you don't use anymore which helps you out and at the same time it is helping out someone else who is less fortunate. My opinion on campaigns is that i think that they are a good idea because they let you express your feelings towards something and they let other people know more about the thing you are campaigning for.

Brief of Campaign

In this unit of campaign we had to design a campaign for a charity shop to improve the quality of donations made to the charity shops in Wymondham. My group chose the red cross charity shop in Wymondham to start a campaign for. At the beginning of this unit we looked at Mary queen of charity shops which gave us some information on charity shops and what we can do to help the charity's. The target audience was for my campaign was everyone really it was aimed at younger people and older people because that way we could get a variety of things donated to the charity shop that way. The message we sent out to everyone was to donate your toys or clothes that you don't need anymore to the red cross charity. We weren't very successful because we got no donations but we think the main reason we didn't get any donations is because it was so near to christmas and people didn't have the time to have a clear out and donate some things, also some people would have already donated things before christmas. First we planned what we were gonna do in our campaign then we had to ring up the charity shop and arrange a time that we could meet them so that we could tell them what we were gonna do and asked them what else we could do to help the charity. In this campaign we produced posters, leaflets, TV Adverts, TIE performance, TIE workshop, video journals and letters/emails/phone calls.
Our final presentation was the TIE(Theatre In Education) performance and workshop which went really well part from the performance wasn't to good because we had a few people missing and had to re-arrange the performance and add people in to play the missing peoples parts, but it turned out ok in the end even though we did get a bit messed up.
